This project will be the third church on this site. Since the destruction of the previous building, as the result of an arson attack in 2003, the congregation have been meeting in the adjoining church hall.

The hall will be returned to its former use, integrated with the new building, following completion.

Construction of the new church will begin in early 2007 and will incorporate community facilities on the first floor.

To allow the ground floor worship space to be free from columns the community rooms are suspended from the roof trusses.

The building is to be constructed from stock brickwork with a roof clad in stainless steel treated to weather to the colour of lead.
