A residential development on derelict inner city land
in Southend. This scheme was part of a larger
multi-use submission for redevelopment of a former
transport depot in a natural depression within a
residential neighbourhood. Part of the site was to
have been used for a dairy depot.
The project involved careful and complex calculations
of fields of view and overlooking as well as careful
siting to avoid noise disturbance to residential
properties.
Following rejection of the original application by the
local authority consent was granted on appeal after a
public enquiry.
In the event changing economic circumstances lead to the
abandonment of the dairy depot and the development did not proceed.
