The British Shops and Stores Association is a trade association for non-food retailing and operates from Middleton House in Middleton Cheney near Banbury.

RWA were responsible for renovating and extending the building to provide headquarters office accommodation and facilities for conferences and training.

The grade II listed building was in considerable disrepair when purchased and extensive renovation was necessary in addition to sympathetic additions to provide the required accommodation.

The inclusion of relatively large meeting spaces, accommodation for up to 45 delegates, within the context of a small scale country house represented a significant challenge.
